A home furnishing retailer has a memorable 0844 number, used initially for the Head Office only. Their 40 showrooms, situated around the UK, advertised local geographic numbers.
The marketing team realised that a third of their advertising space was taken up listing each showroom telephone number. This added nothing to the brand name, or marketing message, and was very costly as numerous national campaigns were undertaken and quarterly brochures and other literature printed.
By implementing network Area Routing to their 0844 service, they now advertise using just one 0844 number. The 0844 service is now programmed to route callers to their nearest showroom, with an option to key for Head Office, if required. Using the functionality of non geographic numbers, this organisation has made large savings in their marketing budget and improved levels of customer service.
